Thought for the Day#120

OBEDIENCE = SUCCESS

Proverbs 13:13(New American Standard Bible)

ďThe one who despises the word will be in debt to it, but the one who fears the commandment will be rewarded.Ē

Perhaps we find it difficult to accept a truth or direction in Godís word. It may seem to be unfair or unreasonable. Or, that commandment seems to be old fashioned and out of step with modern times.

The ways and word of God are never obsolete. His word and covenant is always up to date and relevant. It is the same solid foundation and formula for a happy and fulfilled life as when first written.

God never changes!

People change. Cultures change, Systems change. God and his word never change. They are as powerful and applicable to day as when first given. God gave his word and statutes to his chosen people. It is unchangeable truth for every nation, especially the household of Israel. Those who build upon it and abide by it will always prosper.

Modern society may scoff. The ways of men may replace the ways of God, but truth is truth. It cannot be changed or denied. The standards and ways of our Heavenly Father never change.

We may be discouraged as we see such immorality and evil all about us. Persecution and ridicule may come upon us as a rushing flood. The ungodly will call us foolish for maintaining a godly lifestyle. In fact our natural instincts may tell us that we can only succeed if we compromise our integrity. Just remember that those who violate Godís word and principles will always come to failure. The very commandments that they laugh at and mock will demand a harsh penalty. Worldly success may seem easy. Prosperity may seem to abound. But, be sure that the wages of sin is death. The gift of God is eternal life. Righteous obedience brings Godís blessing. (Romans 6:23)

The word is our Rock. It is the very foundation and source of our success. Those who live by it and keep the commandments of God will always prosper. Seek the Kingdom of God and his righteousness and you shall have all these things added unto you. (Matthew 6:33)

Donít be fooled! Jesus Christ (the Word) is always the same! (Hebrews 13:8) We are the Sons of God. The wealth of our inheritance is in His Kingdom.

He will prosper us both here and in all of eternity. Praise His Holy Name!
