Thought for the Day

John 16:23  (New American Standard Bible)

23“In that day you will not question Me about anything. Truly, truly, I say to you, if you ask the Father for anything in My name, He will give it to you.”

Do you know your access code? Did you for get your PIN number? Can you draw on your account? These may seem like foolish questions as we speak of spiritual things. But, Believe it or not, such things exist for the believer.

Many Christians rob themselves of many of God’s blessing and provisions because they don’t understand how to approach God. Prayer (our communication and requests) and Praise, (giving God thanks glory, and honor) should be a daily experience for every believer. An ideal illustration of how to approach God is found in the Lord’s Prayer. (Matthew 6:9-13) This is the prayer of Jesus to the Father

Where do I obtain my access code?

Your key to instant access into the presence of God is the name: Jesus.  One of the great gifts extended to us is the privilege and authority to use the name of Jesus when calling upon God.

Many people actually pray to Jesus or some other entity Instead of the Heavenly Father. Somehow we seem to have the Idea that God is unreachable, so we look for other

personalities to get his attention for us.  The only mediator that we need is Jesus.

Jesus said,  The works that I do, are the works of my Father. Then he said “What I do, You will do and even greater this you will do.” He has given us full authority to go directly to the Father in His name. The Name of Jesus is our instant access code to the throne of God.

What is my PIN (Personal Identification Number)?

Upon entering into redemption and salvation through the atoning work of Jesus, we have a new PIN. Our name is written in the book of life. No one can access our account with God. It is our own. It is identified by our name. Good standing or bad standing is our own responsibility. No one but us can make deposits or withdrawals. Our record is kept in the vault of God’s books of accounting.

The power of the Purchase order.

A purchase order is simply a request or authorization to buy particular items from another. We must ask God for what we desire or need. Our access code to his abundance is the name, ”Jesus”.

Jesus declared “Do not ask me. Ask the Father in My Name, and he will do it.
