Thought for the Day

Psalm 33: 18-20 (New American Standard Bible)

“Behold, the eye of the LORD is on those who fear Him, on those who hope for His loving-kindness, to deliver their soul from death and to keep them alive in famine. Our soul waits for the LORD; He is our help and our shield.”

Everyone faces difficult and trying times. Discouragement and fear are very real. The enemy would try to convince us that no one cares.

Perhaps your day has started with such heartache.  You may be convinced that there is no way out of your situation.

I have good news for you. Someone cares!  God has made covenant with his Kingdom People!  His promise did not leave us his commandments of "do’s and don’ts".    His covenant is an ongoing commitment of almighty God to watch over, keep, protect and provide for his Kingdom.  Those of the House of Israel are the chosen ones.  Our membership in his household gives us “family status”.  We have privileges as his children that no other can claim.

God cares about us!  Loneliness may seem unbearable and problems unsolvable, but God really does care.  He is watching over us.  He sees our need.  He knows our pain.  Yes, even today, He sees us and has his hands outstretched to come to our rescue.  He wants to provide in the time of need.

Though we may fear the circumstances of the moment, He is watching and protecting our every move.  He keeps us from death.  He will not allow the enemy to overwhelm us or bring us to destruction and death.

He protects and provides!  Yes, He will keep us alive in famine.  We will not starve.  Sometimes we come to the point of need and hunger.  He will not fail us.  He allowed Joseph to be sold into slavery, that he might be in position to preserve Israel from starvation.  He provided food in the wilderness when he delivered his people from Egypt.  He filled the widows meal barrel and sustained her and her son through the famine.

Let us turn to Him and wait for his supply.  Our hope and our faith is not in vain.  He will answer.  He is watching for us to give him opportunity.  He will lead us through the valley of despair.  He will bring joy and victory as we come before him with awesome reverence and respect.

Prayer:  Dear Father, you know my heart, you see my need.  I know that you are watching over me right now.  I ask you to provide as only you can.  Strengthen my faith.  Replace my heartache with peace and joy.  I trust you to see me
