Thought for the Day
Proverbs 11:1,3† (New American Standard Bible)
1A false balance is an abomination to the LORD, but a just weight is His delight. 3The integrity of the upright will guide them, but the crookedness of the treacherous will destroy them.
God hates dishonesty! We live in a land of dishonesty and misrepresentation. The integrity of a verbal commitment, an honest scale and a contract sealed with a handshake has disappeared. This home of His Remnant has become the land of liars and shysters. Their cheating and deceiving ways plunder the honest and innocent. The righteous suffers and the wicked seem to prosper. We of the House of Israel often endure persecution and hardship by those who have no integrity. Our land is full of ungodly vultures looking for opportunity to rob, raid and steal from Godís people.
Their treachery will destroy them! Their falsehoods and dishonesty is an abomination to the Lord. In other words, God hates their ways! We can rest assured that God does not overlook their activities and motives. Their injustice and misdeeds will be punished. We, the Remnant of Israel, will see justice come. Donít be discouraged because they seem to prosper while the righteous suffers. It is declared that they will be destroyed by their own crookedness. God has a way of entrapping the wicked in the very snare that they prepared for others. Those who do wickedly will never really prosper. They will not escape the justice of Godís judgment.
God delights in honest measure! ††We may think that we will not be vindicated until the great ďDay of the LordĒ. This is not necessarily true. Those who serve Him faithfully find great security and safety in His Covenant. He has promised to supply all of our needs. (Philippians 4:19) What a blessing! The wicked have a restless spirit, a tormented mind, and sleepless nights trying to keep their treacherous gains. The Sons of God have contentment and peace while enjoying the quiet confidence of Godís supply.
The integrity of the upright will guide them. God always honors and rewards us when we do the right thing. He really delights in His people who walk in his righteousness. We must never be tempted to employ the practices of the wicked. We will receive great reward for our integrity. God will bless us in many ways. He will guide us, keep and preserve us and supply our every need. Be encouraged! He provides many wonderful blessings that earthly assets cannot obtain.
This worldís wealth cannot buy health, peace, happiness, fulfillment, righteousness or Godís eternal reward. The Sonís of God have a covenant with Him. The righteous will rule and reign with Him. The wicked will be judged and destroyed.
Prayer: Oh, God! I want to keep my eyes upon you and your promise. Help me never to be tempted to fall into the ways of the wicked. Please help me to remember that the ungodly will pay for their evil ways. I know that my Redeemer lives and that he will meet my needs today. I long for the day when all injustice and wickedness will be put down. Give me strength and wisdom to walk uprightly in your ways. I love to please you. I Pray in the name of Jesus. Amen!
