Thought for the Day

Acts 17:28-29   (New American Standard Bible)

28For in Him we live and move and exist, as even some of your own poets have said, ‘For we also are His children.’  29“Being then the children of God, we ought not to think that the Divine Nature is like gold or silver or stone, an image formed by the art and thought of man.

We live in an age that is determined to be politically correct and religiously proper. All religions are to be respected and accepted as valid. We dare not suggest that another’s God or belief is less credible than ours. What a lie.

The Apostle Paul stood before them at Mars Hill and declared that there is but one God.

He is a God above and beyond any that man might fashion for himself. He is the God of all Creation in whom we live and move and exist.

The children of God must be careful to remember in whom we trust. Our carnal nature finds it so easy to put our trust in the things of this world.  We look at the necessities of life as our ultimate goal. The luxuries that we can attain become our net of security.  How strange!

Surely the people of God should know that our best efforts all short. The tangible things of this life are weak and frail. The gods created by man are helpless and without ability.

They can neither satisfy nor provide for the need of man.

Let us, like the Apostle Paul, openly declare who we are and in whom we exist. We are not dependent upon our own abilities.

God Almighty, the creator of the heavens and the earth and every living thing within them is the only real God. There is none other! Let us rest in his love and compassion. He cares for his own.

We are the Children of God, in whom we function and live and exist. He is life, the giver of life, and the source of our every need. Let us boldly abide in Him.

Prayer:  Dear Heavenly Father, Thank you for life and all your blessings. Please help me to be strong. I know there is no other God but you. Keep me undefiled by the doctrines of men and their lies about accepting false religions.   I don’t want to compromise my faith.  I want to live boldly for you. I pray in the name of Jesus, my Lord and Redeemer. Amen.
