Thought for the Day
THE SURETY OF HIS WORD
Isaiah 55:11 New American Standard Bible
††††††††††† So will My word be which goes forth from My mouth;
††††††††††† It will not return to Me empty,
††††††††††† Without accomplishing what I desire,
††††††††††† And without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it.
One of the great truths of God may be hard for some of us to understand.† We hear or speak Godís word as directed by the Holy Spirit, only to wonder if there was anything accomplished by our efforts. Sometimes our minds are filled with questions that we cannot answer because we see no immediate results. Did I say the right thing? Was I really directed by the Spirit in what I said?† Why didnít I see God do something? Etc.
Rest assured that the Word of God always produces results. We may not see any response to His truth that we speak. Never the less, the very utterance of His word will
bring forth the results for which God had us speak it. While we reason with our natural mind about what God wishes to accomplish, we are often limited to our own insight.
His purpose is often beyond our ability to understand.† His word is absolute truth. It is alive and powerful. It accomplishes many purposes when spoken by his people. The Word has many uses in the hand of God. He may wish to bless, correct, direct, encourage, inspire, or reveal his will to someone. Perhaps it will bring new revelation or spiritual awareness to the recipient. Others may be convicted of their need for repentance and baptism for the remission of sin. Some will be strengthened in their faith.
Let us share His word, daily. It will always do that which he purposes to accomplish.
Remember that some plant, others water, and perhaps someone else will reap, but God brings the increase. (1Corinthians 3:6)
We can be sure that our witness in declaring his word will bring results.
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, Please help me to speak your Word. I want to be used to bring forth fruit for your Kingdom. I am willing to be used by your precious Holy Spirit to spread your truth. Thank you for giving new life to me. Help me to share it freely. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen
