Thought For The day # 183

2 Timothy 1:12 (NASB)

12For this reason I also suffer these things, but I am not ashamed; for I know whom I have believed and I am convinced that He is able to guard what I have entrusted to Him until that day.

The apostle Paul was facing great difficulty and suffering because he was doing the work of the Lord. He had been beaten and imprisoned because he declared the gospel. He faced many obstacles and difficulties while keeping his commitment to minister God’s word.

The enemy attacks us just as he did Paul. Our trials may be different but they have the same effect.  We’re often confronted with uncertain questions.  Each new day presents its problems.  Circumstances develop that often challenge our faith. Things that we felt sure about suddenly become questionable. A troubled mind and spirit cause us to be filled with worry and fear.  We become very troubled and unsure of ourselves.

The devil and his forces become very bold and aggressive against us.  He plants   unrest and confusion in our mind and spirit. He distorts the truth and delights in the chaos and turmoil caused by his deceit. Our problems become an insurmountable mountain. Fear destroys our faith. We should never allow this to happen.

Like Paul, let us be reminded in whom we have put our trust. It is our Heavenly Father

who has sustained and kept us. The answered prayer and many victories of the past should remind us that he who is within us is greater than any challenge that can come our way from without.

Let us take a stand and declare our victory through Jesus Christ Our Lord!

Just as surely as He has preserved us and proved himself to be faithful in the past, he will see us through our daily trials. We can trust Him to turn confusion into confidence, fear into faith and discouragement into victory. We know that he will guard and protect everything that we have entrusted to him. He will preserve it all until that day when we rule and reign with Him forever. We have nothing to fear because he is faithful.

My declaration for the day! I do know who I have believed and I am not ashamed to declare it. I will put my trust in the Lord. I will reject fear and declare my faith. My battle shall be turned into victory. Yes, indeed. I know that he will never fail me.
