Thought For The Day # 188

Isaiah 55:11  (New American Standard Bible)

11          So will My word be which goes forth from My mouth;

            It will not return to Me empty,

            Without accomplishing what I desire,

            And without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it.

Many times we tell others of the great promises of God. We quote the Scripture, testify of our victories, and share our faith.  The Holy Spirit leads us in our effort.  We are confident that we have done as the Lord desired.

Later, the horrible feeling of failure overwhelms us. We’re sure that we said the wrong thing or presented it in the wrong way. We may feel that we made a total fool of ourselves. This is a lying trick of the enemy to weaken our faith and discourage us from sharing God’s wonderful promises.

The Word of the Lord, unlike any other word spoken or written, is a quickening power of light and life. It is absolute truth. It is indestructible. It never lays dormant. Every time it is read or spoken it Influences someone.

Never second guess God. Our effectiveness is not dependent upon how we feel. Every time we witness to others or share the Scriptures, we are spreading the living seeds of truth that cannot be destroyed. They will linger in the chambers of the mind until the Holy Spirit returns them to vivid memory.

God has promised that his word will never come back to him without being productive. It will do what He sends it to do. It will bring forth the harvest that He sent it to accomplish.

Never be discouraged when you have spoken as God has directed. At the right time, the truth that was sewn will bring for its fruit.

Heavenly Father, help me to remember that you are faithful to bring forth fruit through my efforts to spread your gospel. Forgive me for being intimidated by doubt and fear. I want to become even bolder and share your word more. I know it is always productive. I pray in Jesus name. Amen
