Thought for the day # 191

Colossians 4:2 (New American Standard Bible)

Devote yourselves to prayer, keeping alert in it with an attitude of thanksgiving;

Each of us faces difficulties of one kind or another almost every day.

It is so important for us to remember that Jesus Christ our Lord paid the ultimate price that we might have victory over them.

While faith is certainly important in achieving answers that we pray for, the right attitude is equally important.

One of the things that help us to endure the hard places is the ability to remember the many blessings that God has extended us in the past.

The problems of the day may seem so overwhelming that we cannot deal with them. Yet, when we assume an attitude of thanksgiving for the grace, mercy, strength and answered prayer of the past, our spirit is lifted and our faith is strengthened.

At such times as these, we find new confidence that we can conquer these difficulties as well. We know that our God who brought victory in the past will bring victory today.

Let us look unto the Lord with invigorated faith and an attitude of thanksgiving. Surely, we will rejoice once again as he proves himself faithful and answers our prayers.

Our problems become much smaller as we face them with an attitude of thanksgiving.

Dear Heavenly Father, how wonderful it is to reflect upon your love and grace. You have answered my prayers and provided my needs many times in the past. I thank you now and rejoice in your faithfulness. Let your name be praised in all the earth. I shall face this day of difficulty with an attitude of thanksgiving. I pledge in the name of Jesus. Amen.
