Thought for the Day #204

Proverbs 2:6    New American Standard Bible

6For the LORD gives wisdom;

From His mouth come knowledge and understanding. 7He stores up sound wisdom for the upright; He is a shield to those who walk in integrity, 8Guarding the paths of justice, And He preserves the way of His godly ones.

All of us are faced with situations far beyond our ability to solve. We desperately search for answers. We pray that God will give us knowledge and understanding, that we might be able to deal with our problems wisely. God will give us such benefits.

King Solomon was given a measure of wisdom beyond any other man.  We have often read about him, wondering what it would be like to be endowed with such blessing.  We could accomplish so much more if we only had godly wisdom.

Our lack of wisdom and knowledge often results from neglecting the study of the scriptures.  We’re reminded in verse 7 that God stores up sound wisdom for the upright and becomes a shield for those who live with integrity.

Fulfilling our desire is not impossible.  The scripture reminds us that every word that comes from the mouth of God is filled with knowledge and understanding for those who walk uprightly. His Word is saturated with insight and practical truth.

The Holy Spirit brings God’s word to life, revealing truth and knowledge far beyond our natural ability.  Diligent study and meditation allows Him to bring the mysteries of God into our understanding. Wisdom is revealed through imparted knowledge of his Word.

The Holy Spirit often brings revelation knowledge to those who study His word consistently. The answer to our problem may be revealed while reading a passage that seems to have no application for the situation at hand.

The word of God is the bread of life. The natural bread that we eat is digested and disseminated throughout our body, meeting the needs of every part. We may not understand how it is changed into energy and vitality but, it provides our daily need.

The Holy Spirit enables us to digest the Scriptures in such a manner. We may be reading a portion that seemingly has no application to our problem, only to discover that knowledge was unveiled, wisdom revealed, and the solution established.

Heavenly Father, please help me to discipline myself. I really do want your knowledge and wisdom. Help me to read your word consistently. I want to be spiritually sensitive to your Holy Spirit that you might reveal your hidden mysteries of knowledge and truth to my understanding. I pray in the name of Jesus, my Lord and Redeemer. Amen.
