Thought for the Day #225

HOW BIG THE HARVEST?

2 Corinthians 9:6-8††† New American Standard Bible

6Now this I say, he who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.

7Each one must do just as he has purposed in his heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.

8And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that always having all sufficiency in everything, you may have an abundance for every good deed;

Many within the Kingdom of God are poverty stricken, living in desperation and need.Amazingly, many Christians seem to believe that the more impoverished they are, the more righteous they become in the eyes of others and God.What a lie!

God gives promises of prosperity and blessing throughout the Scriptures, to those who serve him faithfully. We have been robbed by the enemy who would have us entrenched in hopeless despair as second class citizens.

He who is selfish with what God gives him will receive back in the same proportion that he gives. Those who are unselfish and give freely of what God has provided will receive in like measure as they have given.It is a law of God.

The secret of reaping bountifully is found in a happy, unselfish heart that enjoys sharing what God has provided. Our attitude is as important as the quantity of our giving. A selfish, stingy person is doomed to poverty.One who gives of them self of their resources, with excitement and joy, will reap abundance.

God wants his people to have sufficiency for their every need. Those who claim the truth of His promise, can live in quiet confidence that their need will always be provided.It is sometimes provided through productive labor of our own. He may simply preserve our assets.He may keep us from sickness and expensive repairs that would drain us of our health and finances.

Other times, provision may be added unto us miraculously.Our possessions may last much longer than would normally be expected. Gifts or a job promotion may come our way.God has a unique way of bringing increase to us that we cannot explain. The secret of sufficiency is a happy, unselfish heart that enjoys blessing others.

Prayer:

Dear Heavenly Father, I want to become a channel of blessing to others.Help me to learn the secret of sharing willingly, with a cheerful heart.I donít want to give out of obligation or a selfish attitude.Please lead me into the joy of sowing bountifully. Help me to always remember that you love a cheerful giver.I pray in Jesusí name.Amen.
