Thought for the Day #229

I SHALL BOAST IN THE LORD

1 Corinthians 1:27-31   New American Standard Bible

God has chosen the foolish things of the world to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to shame the things which are strong, and the base things of the world and the despised God has chosen, the things that are not, so that He may nullify the things that are, so that no man may boast before God.  But by His doing you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption, so that, just as it is written, “Let him who boasts, boast in the Lord.”

Money Christians feel we can and inept in their ability to walk in faith and strength before the Lord.  Somehow, they have bought into the lie that their week and incapable. Intimidated by those in society who claimed to be so intellectual and politically correct, they quietly sit in the corner of life, silenced by their evil opposition.  This should not be.

You are chosen by God to demonstrate his supernatural abilities and integrity in the face of a self-righteous world consumed in their own philosophy. He delights in using ordinary people, quickened and made alive through our Redeemer, to confuse and bring to shame those who deny God.

You see, our Heavenly Father takes of the weak and basic elements of mankind, redeems us through the blood of Jesus, empowers us with his Spirit, gives us supernatural ability and power and causes the haughty to be brought low. Those who dare to oppose Almighty God in their self-made glory will surely meet with great judgment and destruction.

God’s ability to redeem us, setting us free from the bondage of sin and death, brings total confusion to the enemy and his followers. Their kingdoms disintegrate before their eyes as the Sons of God confront them.

Truth and righteousness brings light to those trapped in darkness. Those captivated by evil works are set free. Their ungodly powers cannot prevent the saints of God from marching to victory. The mighty shall fall; the righteous shall be established.

Jesus Christ, in all of his wisdom and righteousness, has set us apart unto himself. He gives us ability by his Spirit to live happy, victorious and powerful lives. We are His “Kingdom People”. No power on earth is greater. We shall rule and the reign with Him.

Prayer:

Dear Heavenly Father, it seems like all the forces of darkness are trying to intimidate me. Fear and worry sometimes overwhelm me. Thank you for reminding me that your people cannot be defeated. I know that through us, you reveal your awesome power and righteousness to the world. Forgive me for living in fear. Help me to let your Spirit act boldly through me. Sanctified into his righteousness, I pray in the name of Jesus Christ my Lord and Redeemer. Amen
