Thought for the Day # 232

1 Peter 1:6-9   (New American Standard Bible)

6In this you greatly rejoice, even though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been distressed by various trials,

7so that the proof of your faith, being more precious than gold which is perishable, even though tested by fire, may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ;

8and though you have not seen Him, you love Him, and though you do not see Him now, but believe in Him, you greatly rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory, obtaining as the outcome of your faith the salvation of your souls.

True value is very hard to recognize, and even more difficult to obtain.

 The problems and trials of life seem to be overwhelming at times. The pain of disappointment and heartache brought on by circumstances beyond our control often depress us.

Heaviness of spirit, regret, and general sadness rob us of joy and happiness.

God wants us to look beyond the anguish of the moment and fill our hearts with victorious anticipation. Every testing of our faith, as we go through trials that are hard to endure, prepares us for ultimate reward.

It will be worth at all, on that glorious day when the Lord shall return for his people.

Yes, we shall greatly rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory when we realize that the trial of life is over and we have obtained everlasting salvation.

Envision the victory march before the throne of God, when the complexities of life are over and transformation into internal life is yours. You will rule and reign with Jesus.

Dear Lord, my God, my life is very difficult, at the moment. Confusion and uncertainty overwhelm me. It seems like I am in the midst of trials every day. I know that you love me. Help me to endure the test that I am going through.  Refine me into your righteousness. Help me to strengthen my faith. I know that true faith is more valuable than pure gold. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.
