Thoughts for the Day #240

Philippians 2:9-11    The Holy Bible, King James Version

9Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:

10That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;

11And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Disrespect and contempt seems to be everywhere.  One with authority is looked upon as an egomaniac.  Our self-serving society seems engrossed in the "me first" philosophy.  The unredeemed rebel at authority, refusing to acknowledge the way of righteousness.

Rest assured that the word of God is infallible.  Every man, regardless of their spiritual condition, will stand in the judgment of God one day.

We us Christians sometimes become discouraged with the evil around us.  We are appalled at the ungodly attitudes and the unjust behavior of the ungodly. The name, "Jesus”, Is uttered in blasphemy and cursing continually.

 No thought is given to the consequences of such contemptuous action.

Be of good comfort, God is not mocked.  Judgment and justice will come.  Every knee will bow before Jesus.  The hardest heart, the most evil mind, and every rebellious spirit will fall before him in reverent submission acknowledging that he is indeed the son of the living God.

Your abuse from the ungodly will be rewarded with righteous judgment in due time.  God is faithful.  His judgment is sure.

Rejoice!  Your Redeemer lives.  One day, every creature upon the earth, in the heavens above, or the see beneath, will bow before Him. They will acknowledge that he is Lord.

Heavenly Father, it grieves me when I hear others abused the name of my Lord.  I sometimes become discouraged.  Forgive me.  I want to live a happy, victorious life.  Thank you for the promise of your word.  I pray in Jesus name.  Amen.
