Thoughts for the Day #247

UNLIMITED POWER

Luke 10:19   The Holy Bible, King James Version

19Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

Fear is the constant enemy of Christians. It is also Satan's perfect weapon.

Fear is the counterpart of faith.  Its presence intimidates us and shackles our ability to exercise the promises of God.  This reduces us to the limitation of our own ability. We are left helpless.  Our efforts are unproductive.  Prayer goes unanswered.

Our source of power and ability is found in Jesus Christ, our Redeemer. It is important that we remember that we have little ability without Him.

Every Christian faces daily battles, problems of every kind, and temptations on every side.

The devil will overwhelm us with huge obstacles.  He is determined to intimidate every believer.  Our fear gives him great joy.

God's word is true, and we know it.  All of the raging storm and blustering wind that the devil can bring against us can neither conquer nor destroy.  We have no need to fear.

Let us stand upon the Covenant promise that Jesus has provided.  The serpents and scorpions are not always physical.  These creatures are often demonic spirits directed by Satan to destroy God's people. Jesus Christ, our Lord, has conquered every one of them.

He has absolute power and authority.  They Must Obey His Every Command. And in turn, Jesus has given us the same ability.  When we speak and act in the power and authority that Jesus has provided, we tread upon them.

They have no weapon that can stand against us.  We have no reason to fear.  They cannot harm us. Indeed, there is nothing that they can do to hurt us.

Use the word of God boldly.  Speak your command against fear and every thing that causes it.  It has to flee from you.  Jesus has given you the power to walk in victory.  Use it.  The serpents and scorpions will slither away at the sound of your tread.

Prayer:

Dear Heavenly Father, I know that you are all-powerful.  I know that Jesus conquered and defeated the powers of darkness.  Help me to understand the authority and power that you have given me. Forgive me for sometimes being fearful.  Teach me to walk in power and authority against the enemy.  Give me boldness to come against him.  Help me to rebuke fear and to boldly exercise my faith.  I pray in Jesus name.  Amen.
