Thought for the Day #250
COMMUNICATION BRINGS FELLOWSHIP
1 John 1:1-3 New American Standard Bible
1What was from the beginning, what we have heard, what we have seen with our eyes, what we have looked at and touched with our hands, concerning the Word of Life— 2and the life was manifested, and we have seen and testify and proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and was manifested to us— 3what we have seen and heard we proclaim to you also, so that you too may have fellowship with us; and indeed our fellowship is with the Father, and with His Son Jesus Christ.

One of the greatest methods of communication is found in the art of sharing one’s experiences with another. The above text shows John talking to others about eternal life found through his relationship with Jesus.
He had explained everything that he had seen and experienced from the very beginning of Jesus ministry. He found it to be the Word of life. The exciting message that Jesus brought through teaching and revelation was the words of eternal life.
John had found it to be wonderful and exciting. The need to share this wonderful truth was intense. This communication with God caused him to long for fellowship with his fellow man. Surely, others would enter into unity and friendship, once they found the wonderful truth.
Like John, we can reach others much quicker by simply sharing our experiences with the Lord and a new understanding of Scripture revealed to us by the Holy Spirit. We need not preach or insist on immediate conversion.
Share the truth and the truth will set them free. Let your personal relationship with the Heavenly Father reveal the work of Redemption through Jesus Christ. Gently illustrate your joy of eternal life. Some will soon join you in fellowship.
Almighty God, I become so lonely sometimes. There seems to be no one that I can fellowship with. It is difficult for me to testify of the scriptures. Let the things you have done for me inspire others to live for you. Help me to share my wonderful experiences with them. I want them to know eternal life, as I do. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.
