Thought for the Day #252
BE CAREFUL FOR NOTHING
Philippians 4:6-7††† New American Standard Bible
6Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.
7And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Anxiety and tension are commonplace today. Pressures of life are overwhelming.† Worry and concern haunt almost every human being. Many never experience a good night's sleep.† Restless frustration seems to be the curse of this generation.
The Children of God need not participate in such disquieting thought.† God has commanded that we be careful for nothing.† That simply means that we are to trust Him every moment of the day.
The Scripture declares that He will supply our every need.† He will protect and keep us from danger.† He will never leave or forsake us. He has extended wonderful peace to us, that passes all understanding.
As Sons of God, we must remember to be faithful in prayer and supplication, giving thanks unto him as we make our requests known.
Remembering that God turns bad things into good for those that love and trust him, we should be free from worry and care.
The peace of God, which passes all understanding, will keep our hearts from fear and our minds free from confusion.† We can rest in the surety that He watches over us with great concern.
Be thankful for His care.† Be confident in His ability to lead you through every kind of problem.† He has promised to preserve and keep his own.† He will not fail.
Dear God, I often forget that you are my Comforter and Provider.† I take things into my own hands, and try to be self-sufficient in my daily life.† Please forgive me.† I know that you are far better than I, in making the right choices.† You always have the answer and know what is best for me.† Remind me to quit worrying and to trust you.† Teach me to rest in your peace that passes all understanding.† I pray in Jesusí name.† Amen.
