Thought for the day #261
2 Corinthians 9:10 (New American Standard Bible)
10Now He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your seed for sowing and increase the harvest of your righteousness;
Everyone who labors wants to receive a just recompense for their efforts.
Many times, we delay our increase, because we feel insufficient in our supply. The apostle Paul in teaching the Corinthians to give with a right motive declared that our heavenly Father would supply our need as we, in turn, are unselfish with others.
How easy it is to say "If I just had more, I would do this or that.” The Scripture makes it very plain that God does not hold us accountable for those things we do not have. He does expect us to use what he has given us appropriately. He has promised that as we give of our resources that he will re-supply with greater abundance.
Many people fail to see an increase in either spiritual or tangible prosperity, because they have never learned to share with others. As a result, they continue to walk in poverty and need.
You may have an intense desire to bless others. Your spirit within, may long to accomplish more than your provisions permit. Share as your spirit desires within the limits of your capacity, and you'll find God will multiply your return according to his promise.
Let your good works come from the heart, not from a feeling of guilt or condemnation. Never extend yourself because you feel you must. Always present your gift with a joyful heart, desiring to see others blessed.
Our heavenly Father, who is the giver of all our provision, will always increase our supply, enabling us to sow more seed of blessing to others. He wants to increase your ability to minister that he might multiply the reward of your righteousness.
Dear heavenly Father, increase my faith. I live in fear of sharing what I have. I have so little, that I feel I have nothing to give. Help me to learn the secret of sharing. I want to find the joy of your promise fulfilled in my life. Help me to claim the blessing of multiplied reward. I pray and Jesus name. Amen.
