Thought for the day #273
Colossians 3: 12-13 (New American Standard Bible)
12So, as those who have been chosen of God, holy and beloved, put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience;
13bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, whoever has a complaint against anyone; just as the Lord forgave you, so also should you.
The house of God is in disarray. His people live in constant frustration and turmoil. Unity and peace have dissipated into clouded memories of the past.
Bitterness and rebellion are the norm of the day. Retribution is the battle cry echoing through the chambers of His kingdom. The evidence of malice and resentment is everywhere present. Peace has been replaced with confusion and fear.
Surely, it's time for the household of God to come to its senses and repent. We have fallen into the trap of Satan. He promotes criticism and division among the Brethren.
Christians who once sought opportunity to enjoy sweet fellowship and communion with others of God's Kingdom now walk about with a chip on their shoulder, seeking opportunity to be maimed or inflict hurt.
The household of God is in disarray. Peace and uprightness has become someone else's responsibility. An attitude of “I am right and you're wrong" prevails.
This unforgiving spirit holds much of God's household in bondage. It affects individual, family, and church relationships. As it was in the days of Paul, so it is today.
We are commanded to walk in peace with our Brethren, forgiving them as Jesus has forgiven us. The pain of misunderstandings and transgressions against us by fellow Christians can be permanently removed by simple forgiveness.
Let us bear up each other, forgive each other and walk in the beautiful peace of King Jesus. Oh, that all the house of God, would abide in loving harmony.
Prayer: Almighty God, I have animosity and unforgiveness toward other members of your household. I know that I have been forgiven much and that you have cleansed me from sin. Forgive me for my ungodly attitude. I want to forgive others as I have been forgiven. Help me, I pray in Jesus’ name. Amen.
