Thought for the Day #289

Philippians 4:6 (New American Standard Bible)

6Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.

Our lives are weighted with the many cares and responsibilities of daily living.

Perhaps you are facing circumstances and problems beyond your ability. This is the normal course of life for all of us. It doesn't need to be that way.

We, as Christians, redeemed and restored by the blood of Christ, have special privileges as members of his kingdom.

We do not need to worry and fret over the challenges of life, or the testing that may come our way. Scripture says, be careful or be anxious for nothing.

Rather, we are to come before God with prayer and supplication, presenting our request to him with thanksgiving. This may seem terribly difficult, but is really very easy to do.

God is far more anxious to meet our needs than we can possibly understand. He desires to bless his people, both tangibly and spiritually. He declares that he will never leave or forsake us. It is written, "that he will supply all of our needs.

We must refuse to allow the cares of life to burden us down. God has ordained that we should walk in victory through his strength and ability. He has given us faith to trust him for our every need.

Let us rejoice in the Lord! We come before his throne with thanksgiving for that which he is about to do as well as that which he has already done. We are not limited to our own ability. We are sustained by his perpetual provision.

Heavenly Father, help me learn to trust you. My days are filled with constant worry and care. I am so helpless and inadequate in my abilities. I realize that you have given me the privilege of depending upon you. I forget that most of the time and try to do it by myself. Forgive me, I pray. I ask these things In the name of Jesus my Lord. Amen.
