Thought for the Day #290

Isaiah 58:11 (New American Standard Bible)

11“And the LORD will continually guide you, and satisfy your desire in scorched places, and give strength to your bones; And you will be like a watered garden, And like a spring of water whose waters do not fail.

One may find it very difficult to face the rigors of a new day. The continued responsibilities of yesterday, coupled with the unknown events of today can be overwhelming.

The day often begins with the dregs of sleep hanging heavily upon our eyes. Our brain has not yet shifted from “neutral” to productive activity. Slowly, our body begins to show some sort of life as we force it into animation.

Somewhat skeptical of the day's demand, we force ourselves to formulate decisions that will establish our activities.

The children of God need not go through such anguish. Our heavenly Father has certified that he will direct our lives. He will guide is through each day. The necessities and priorities of life will become readily obtainable.

He has promised to abundantly provide for our every need. He will remove the weariness and drudgery that tries to overwhelm us with doubt and fear. The Holy Spirit will continually guide and strengthen us, providing wisdom is needed.

The refreshing waters of spiritual renewal will refresh our discouraged heart. No longer can the dry wasteland of fearful intimidation, control us.

Like a leaf quietly drifting on a gentle stream, we will flow upon the crystal waters of faith and hope, fully confident of God's direction and support throughout the day. Chaos will be turned into quiet order. Uncertainty will fade. Confidence in God's ability will anchor our faith.

The perpetual springs of water flowing from the throne of God will sustain our joy and peace, regardless of what the day may hold. Our sufficiency and ability is established in our Heavenly Father, through Jesus our Lord and Redeemer.

Prayer:  Dear Heavenly Father, I want to face each new day with joy and anticipation, without dread or fear. Help me to live in the flow of your refreshing waters. I want to enjoy life to the fullest and flourish like the plants of a watered garden. Help me to trust you completely, I pray in the name of Jesus Christ my Lord Redeemer. Amen.
