Thought for the Day #303

UNJUDGED

14 The unspiritual man does not receive the gifts of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned. 15 The spiritual man judges all things, but is himself to be judged by no one. 16 "For who has known the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?" But we have the mind of Christ. (1 Cor. 2:14-3:1 RSV)

Those who serve the Lord are often judged, especially those who live and practice the gifts of the Holy Spirit.Criticism, even ridicule is often heaped upon those who have spiritual insight and understanding.

Don't let this be a hindrance to your ministry. The enemy loves to belittle those who walk in spiritual truth. He enjoys making us self-conscious about our spiritual gifts and convictions. He will use the carnal, unspiritual man as a tool to intimidate us.

Those who live under the rule of carnal flesh, always reason according to its limitations. They cannot possibly understand spiritual things, because they are totally void of spiritual understanding.

Pay no attention to such ridicule. Never engage in argument over your spiritual insight attained through the work of the Holy Spirit. They cannot understand. Their conclusion is drawn strictly from carnal, intellectual experience.

God has given the spiritual man, those who live in the righteousness of God, the ability to judge all things through the ministry of his Holy Spirit. We can discern what is of God and what is not. We can judge the actions of others, as to whether they meet the standards of Christian living, or not.

Only those who have come to spiritual maturity have the ability to make judgments about spiritual things. These have the mind of Christ. They have received the gifts of the Spirit of God. They have every right to offer instruction and correction to those who need it. They are commissioned by the Holy Spirit to admonish and discipline those who walk in error.

If you relationship with God is such that you have the mind of Christ and experience the gifts on his Spirit, live in holy boldness and perform your ministry without intimidation. The Holy Spirit will validate your efforts as you minister according to the mind of Christ.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, I know that those who claim to be Christians sometimes mock and ridicule me. I do become discouraged intimidated. Iím afraid that they think I am self-righteous and out of order. I know that I have acted, according to the direction of your spirit. Please help me to remember that they cannot understand. I want to be obedient to your direction regardless of their criticism. I pray in the name of Jesus Christ, my lord and redeemer. Amen.
