Thought for the Day #305
THE BROKEN YOKE
Isaiah 9:4†† (new American Standard)
4 For Thou shalt break the yoke of their burden and the staff on their shoulders,
The rod of their oppressor, as at the battle of Midian.
Many of God's people are living under a great burden today. It's time for us to realize that 2000 years ago God and his Son to break that yoke.
While most realize the spiritual implications and that freedom from the bondage of sin and death that comes the sacrifice of Jesus, most Christians limit it to the spiritual realm.
We as Godly believers are not limited to victories in spiritual battle. We also have authority in the name of Jesus against the enemy in every other area of life as well.
God's destruction of the Midianites was a very tangible one. He defeated one of the greatest armies of that day. The yoke they put on God's people was broken.
It tells us in this verse, that God has broken the yoke of his burden and the staff of the shoulder the rod of his oppressor. He has made the power of the enemy useless to those who are bold enough to exercise their authority in Jesusí name.
Whether the burden you carry today is physical, financial, emotional or spiritual, Jesus broke the yoke of its bondage upon you.
Take courage, exercise your faith. Know your rights according to the Scripture. Recognize that you have all power and authority in the name of Jesus, who conquered hell and the grave with the†† all its demons.
Jesus came, paid the ultimate price for our sin, and broke the yoke of burden placed upon us by sinís consequence.
The victory belongs to God's people. Take it! Boldly proclaim it in the face of your burden. Trust God to break that yoke that you carry today. God wants your load to be lighter than it is. Victory is ours!
Dear Heavenly Father, my load is heavy and hard to bear. I had not realized that you broke the physical bondage as well is the spiritual through Jesus Christ my Lord. I accept your promise and acknowledge my authority in Jesus my Lord. Help me to exercise my faith and use the power you gave me. I rebuked the enemy whose put me in bondage. I claim the breaking of my yoke today. I pray the name of Jesus Christ my Lord and Redeemer. Amen.
