Thought for the Day #307

Isaiah 54:17-55:1

17 "No weapon that is formed against you shall prosper;

And every tongue that accuses you in judgment you will condemn.

This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD,

And their vindication is from Me," declares the LORD.

Those who walk in righteousness are often confronted with strong opposition from the enemy.

Criticisms and mocking are commonplace. Outright persecution is often encountered.

This should be no surprise to the Christian. They did the same to Jesus, who was perfect in every way. Why would they not do it to those of us who are less-than-perfect, but cleansed and forgiven by his redemptive blood.

Do not be discouraged. The prophet Isaiah gave us a promise from God Almighty. The enemy may seem to triumph for a moment, but God will not let him overwhelm us. He will not let us be tried beyond which we are able to bear.

No weapon that the enemy forms against God's people can stand for very long. It will not prosper. Let us be quick to challenge those who would bring false judgment against us. We need not stand by silently in helpless frustration.

God declares that vindication is ours. The day will come when every opposing force will be put down and the Saints of God will be vindicated.

Be a good courage. Your faith, strengthened by the Holy Spirit, activated by the word of God, can repel the false accuser. They shall not prosper, and can not win.

Remember that the righteous Spirit that is within us is greater than anything the enemy can bring against us. Rejoice and be glad for we have the victory through Jesus Christ, our Lord and Redeemer.

Satan and all of his demonic forces are doomed to defeat and destruction. Praise the name of the Lord Jesus, the Christ!

Heavenly Father, I admit that I am somewhat discouraged. I have been buffeted about and ridiculed for so long. Help me to stand faithfully in the face of my enemies. Help me to remember that you promised perfect victory and peace to those who trust in you. I claim your promise that those weapons formed against me cannot prosper. Bring your judgment upon them. I pray in Jesus name. Amen
