Thought for the Day #313

1 Peter 1:3-4   (New American Standard Bible)

3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 to obtain an inheritance which is imperishable and undefiled and will not fade away, reserved in heaven for you,

When you repented of your sins and followed Jesus into the watery grave of baptism you were “born again”.

That means that you started your life over with a new beginning. None of the sin or failures of the past are any longer a part of you. God has washed you clean through the blood of Jesus. He has cleansed you from all unrighteousness.

Don't let memories of your past hinder your "new beginning" progress. Lock into the new hope that God has given you through the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Because he rose from the dead, you also will rise from the dead and have eternal life. You will live forever with Jesus. He has a very rich and abundant inheritance that is completely imperishable for you.

It will never fade in its luster and glory. It will be new throughout all of the ages of eternity. Your inheritance will never fade away, or grow old.

Rejoice in the Lord and give him praise for the wonderful inheritance he has reserved for you in heaven. Lift up your heart and be glad, for he is faithful to reward those who serve him.

Oh, God in Heaven, how I love you. Sometimes I grow discouraged because of my troubles and trials. Life seemed so hard sometimes. I know I fall short in meeting my responsibilities from time to time. Please remind me of my inheritance that you have reserved for me in heaven. I know that life will be worth it all, when I receive it from you in the ages to come. Thank you, Lord, for your promise. I pray in the name of Jesus my Redeemer. Amen
