Thought for the Day #315

1 Corinthians 2:9   (New American Standard Bible)

9 but just as it is written,

"Things which eye has not seen and ear has not heard,

And which have not entered the heart of man,

All that God has prepared for those who love Him."

Sometimes the trials and pressures of life become so intense that we, as Christians, forget the wondrous glory of God's promises and covenants with his people.

You may be going through a very difficult time. Frustration and discouragement may seem to be a constant part of your life. At times like these, it is very important to take time to reflect upon the blessings of your loving Lord.

Let your mind reflect upon the day when you found the deliverance from sin, through the Lord Jesus Christ your Redeemer. Remember the new life that was instilled within your heart, the washing away of the guilt and condemnation that you felt.

Recollect the thoughts of answered prayer and God's faithfulness to make a way where there seemed to be none, in your experiences of yesterday.

Recall those times when you know that God protected and delivered you from harm when you did not know you were in danger, until after the fact.

As you dwell upon all these things, you will find that praise and thanksgiving will fill your heart. Discouragement and frustration will give way to appreciation for God's faithfulness in meeting your needs.

Faith is regenerated. Hope is renewed. Joy of a bubbling Spirit begins to surface, and suddenly you're thankful to be alive. You know Jesus Christ as your Lord and Redeemer. Lift up your voice, and give Him praise!

Surely the things that He has for you are beyond anything you can imagine or understand. Jesus will continue to minister to you in the future just as he has in the past. He will guide your pathway and keep you secure. Praise his name!

My Dear Father in Heaven, forgive me for my failure to remember your blessings. I have allowed the enemy to discourage me and I had forgotten all your benefits. Help me to always remember your Covenant promises to me. I want to keep my fellowship with you fresh and pure. Please let your Holy Spirit renew my heart. Replace my frustration and heartache with praise and joy. I pray in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, my Redeemer. Amen.
