Thought for the Day #318

Ps 84:11-12 (New American Standard Bible)

11 For the LORD God is a sun and shield; The LORD gives grace and glory; No good thing does He withhold from those who walk uprightly. 12 O LORD of hosts, How blessed is the man who trusts in Thee!

Godless, fear mongering, warlords of Babylon are constantly battering us with worry and concern. Our world is filled with turmoil and uncertainty. Pestilence and sickness, insecurity and frustration are a daily part of our lives.

We have become slaves to the system, in bondage to the servitude of this world.

We long for a break, just some time for our self, an easing of the pressure. Feelings of uneasiness, even fear are constantly present.

No one wants to live this way, and yet we do.

Let us change things today. David learned to walk in peace and draw strength from God in his most difficult moments. Let us draw from his experience recorded in Psalms 85.

Put your relationship with God, through the Lord Jesus Christ, first and foremost in your life. Trust in him with all of your heart. Know that He hears you when you call upon him.

When days are dark and gloomy He will bring the radiant sunshine. When trials and troubles seem overwhelming, He puts up a shield of covering. His provisions are always available, his love is forever sufficient.

The blessing and strength of God is your portion. It belongs to you through Jesus Christ your Lord and Redeemer. He will bring good from that which is bad. He will never hold any good thing from you, if you trust him.

Let him be the glory of your life. Depend upon him for help. Walk in his radiant sunshine. Let him shield you from all destructive forces. He is always dependable and will never fail those who commit their way to him. He wants to bless you.

Dear God in Heaven, sometimes I become angry with my circumstances. I try so hard to have a happy, productive life. I constantly fail. I feel empty and unhappy within. Please help me to depend upon you, and quit trusting myself. I want to live under your blessing, and protection. I want to surrender my way to you and walk in your way instead of mine. I pray in Jesusí name. Amen.
