Thought for the Day #347
OUR FAITHFUL GOD
8 but because the LORD loved you and kept the oath which He swore to your forefathers, the LORD brought you out by a mighty hand, and redeemed you from the house of slavery, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt. 9 Know therefore that the LORD your God, He is God, the faithful God, who keeps His covenant and His lovingkindness to a thousandth generation with those who love Him and keep His commandments.
It is a wonderful thing to know Godís promises.† His word is a covenant, an unbreakable contract with his people.
Commitment and integrity seems to be a very fickle thing in the age in which we live.
It seems that there is never a contract made that cannot be broken by a shrewd attorney.† Confidence in any agreement can be undermined by trick words, and doubletalk. This is not true of Godís covenant with his redeemed.
Almighty God is stable and immovable in his commitment to his people.† Because of his love for us, He keeps the promises that he made to our forefathers. His word is true and unchangeable.† It cannot be broken.† He will never twist it to make it seem to say something that it does not. One can rest assured that God will always be unchangeable and absolutely faithful to keep every promise that He has ever made to us.
When everything about you seems uncertain, and the promise of others fail, you can always turn to God with confidence that he will not fail you.† He loves you.† He honors his commitments to you and for a thousand generations he will prove himself faithful.
Discover his covenant promises.† Put your trust in the living God, who created all that there is.† Remember those promises are a covenant to you, just as they were to your forefathers.† God never changes.† What he has done for others, he has committed to do for you.† Trust him!† God is with you!
Dear Heavenly Father, others have wounded and hurt me. I have been so shaken by my experiences, that I have lost most of my faith.† I had forgotten, how perfect and true, you are.† Forgive me for trusting in people and not in you.† I know that your Word never fails. The covenant, you made with my forefathers is mine as well.† I claim it now.† I know that you will deal uprightly with me and give me victory over those who have tried to destroy me.† I return to the promise of your Covenant, in the name of Jesus Christ my Redeemer.† Amen.
