Thought for the Day #358

Ephesians  2:4-6 (King James Bible)

4 But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, 5 even when we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), 6 and raised us up with Him, and seated us with Him in the heavenly places, in Christ Jesus,

It is very difficult for us to understand the wonderful meaning of this scripture.  Perhaps the best way to understand it is to visualize sitting with Jesus as He sits by the side of the Heavenly Father.

All of the power and glory of such intimate privilege is difficult to imagine. We all know the prestige and influence associated with people in powerful positions. We feel honored to be considered an associate or friend. We become identified with their success and reputation.

Imagine the privilege that we have in Jesus. We are already, now, this very minute, seated with him in heavenly places. All of his influence, power and righteousness have been freely given to us. We use his name with authority.

His grace has set us free from the law of death and sin. His atoning blood has paid our debt for every transgression. We have been delivered from an outcast to an intimate member of His kingdom. He has made us part of His family.

Enter into his presence boldly, walk in the victory He has given, and exercise your authority and privilege in Jesus Christ your Lord. Rejoice and be glad!

Dear Heavenly Father, I praise your name. Thank you for lifting me into the heavenly places with you. I want to learn more of you. Help me to assume my rightful position of power and privilege with Jesus my Lord and Redeemer. Forgive my discouragement and fear. Help me to live victoriously. I want to bring glory to my Lord, Jesus; your only begotten son. I pray in His name. Amen.
