Thought for the Day #359

1 Peter 4:13 (King James Version)

13 But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.

Hardship and suffering is never easy. One does not live very long without facing painful and often undeserving pain and hardship.

This is especially true of those who have made a total commitment to serve the Lord. Persecution and injustice often falls upon those who confess Jesus Christ as Lord of their life.

It is always easy to find those who despise the name of the Lord. They delight in maligning and persecuting those who follow Him.

Remember, He said if they hate me, they will also hate you.Donít be alarmed. Endure the persecution or adversity with courage. Abide in His strength. Remain strong and true in your walk of faith.

Rejoice to be counted worthy to suffer with Him, to be identified by His name. Dwell upon all His majesty and glory when the King of kings returns to rule and reign over this earth.

Rejoice and be glad that you are a partaker in His sufferings. You shall be exceedingly glad when you share in His glory!

Dear Lord, God, I come to you with great joy and thanksgiving. It seems impossible that you have allowed me the privilege with partaking in my Lordís sufferings. I am so unworthy. You know that I have complained about my hardships. My spirit has been distraught. I have not been a good witness for you. Forgive me, Lord. I am thankful that you allow me to participate in your suffering. Help me to remember that I shall also participate in your glory. I pray in the name of Jesus, my Lord. Amen.
