Thought for the Day #261

Romans 5:1-2 (New American Standard Bible)

5:1 Therefore having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2 through whom also we have obtained our introduction by faith into this grace in which we stand; and we exult in hope of the glory of God.

Inability and in adequacy hauntís many of Godís people. They feel totally overwhelmed with the loving grace of God extended to them.Feelings of unworthiness rob them of many of Godís blessings.

The devil takes great pleasure in using these feelings against us. He puts great emphasis on our failures and shortcomings. Our minds are filled with his deceitful lies. We become overwhelmed with despair and become convinced that we have no real value in the kingdom of God.

This is not true.We stand before God in the righteousness of our Lord Jesus Christ. We are justified by faith in the redeeming value of his sacrificial offering that he made for our deliverance from the bondage of the law of sin and death.

You see, God looks upon our faith in the atoning work of Jesus as justification and righteousness to come into his presence, as a holy vessel, acceptable unto Him. Our justification brings peace that only God can provide. We rest in quiet confidence that we are under the covering and protection of our precious Lord, and heavenly Father.

It is then that we begin to understand the awesome, loving grace extended unto us by Almighty God.

Rejoice! You are a vessel of great value unto God and others. You were purchased at tremendous cost; redeemed and restored. God says you are a valuable new creation through Christ Jesus. Why not live like it?

My dear Heavenly Father, forgive my negative feelings of unbelief. I have been so discouraged in my faith. I have wondered how I could be of any value because of my short comings. I have tried to live by my own strength. I fail so miserably. Help me to remember that I am your Child, purchased through the sacrificial offering of Jesus, My redeemer. Thank you for your faith, peace and grace. I pray in the name of your only begotten Son, Jesus Christ. Amen.
