Thought for the Day #362

1 John 5:4 (New American Standard Bible)

4 For whatever is born of God overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has overcome the world-- our faith.

You may feel overwhelmed and defeated with the circumstances that you face today.

Whatever comes your way is temporary. It will change soon. Of course, that change may be for the worse or for the better. That is strictly your decision.

The secret to better life and victory over the circumstances we face as believers in Jesus Christ is found in the dimension of our faith and how we use it.

Faith grows by using it.It grows by reading the word of God.It is established by our own choice. We choose to walk in faith based upon Godís faithfulness to us in the past or we choose to read the Word, the Bible, and to believe what it says, and then act upon the promises of God that he promised to his children.

When we believe God, and act upon his promise, we have activated our faith and circumstances presently before us fade into the anticipation of victory over them.

We overcome the world by choosing to serve God. As a child of God, he promises to give us the strength, wisdom, knowledge and that old-fashioned determination, that we will believe Him and walk according to his promise.

Faith is the victory! Look beyond your circumstances, and accept Godís promises as being true. Your troubles of the day will fade into the hope of tomorrow. As you receive the Word of God, and accept it as your personal promise from him.

My Heavenly Father, I thank you for the wonderful promises that you have given to your children.Thank you for redeeming me, and delivering me from the bondage of the law of sin and death. I sometimes become overwhelmed with the obstacles and crises of the day. Fear overwhelms me, and I become discouraged.

Forgive me dear Lord; help me to remember your Word.I know your promises are true.I know that they belong to me, because I have been born-again through the blood of your only begotten Son, my Lord and Redeemer. Help me to use my faith. I am determined to overcome the world and live in victory. Faith is my victory over the world. I pray in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
