Thought for the Day # 369

Isaiah 43:1-2 (New American Standard Bible)

But now, thus says the LORD, your Creator, O Jacob, And He who formed you, O Israel, ďDo not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name; you are Mine! 2 "When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they will not overflow you.Ē

We hear much about natural disasters today. We have earthquakes, floods, hurricanes, tornados, fires: and multitudes of pestilence and infirmity. They are coming with much greater frequency and ferocity than ever before.

These are signs signaling the soon return of Jesus, as recorded in Matthew 24.Satan, knowing his time is short, has launched his desperation attack upon Godís people. He is sending forth both natural and spiritual devastation with ďrapid fireĒ aggression. It can bring rushing floods of fear and destruction.

Perhaps you are the target of his destruction. Do not despair. Regardless of Satanís troubling devices, we have no reason to fear him.

Long ago, the prophet Isaiah gave us Godís promise of protection in such a time as this. We, the people of God, can rest on His Covenant promise of protection. Be bold and courageous. Stand on His promise that "When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they will not overflow you.Ē

Refuse to be intimidated by the devilís blustering roar. Remember, he is a coward, a deceiver and liar. He has no power over the Children of God when we exercise unwavering faith. Refuse to be intimidated or fearful. Resist his efforts against you in the name of Jesus and he will flee from you. (James 4:7)

Godís Word is proven and true. Stand firmly upon it. You will not be defeated or over-whelmed. Activate your faith with confidence and laughter. Turn Satanís efforts into actions of futility and defeat when the floodtide of raging waters comes against you.

Dear Heavenly Father, strengthen me in my faith and determination to refuse the intimidation of Satan. Forgive me for sometimes letting fear of his attack discourage me.

I claim your promised protection for me and my family. Give me wisdom to recognize Satanís devices against me. Empower me with your Word and Holy Spirit to do battle against him. Let your holy presence within me repel his efforts to destroy me. Bring his evil ambitions back upon him 100 times over. Help me to activate my faith. I want to rest in the surety of Your Covenant promises. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.
