Thought for the Day #376

LET GOD GUIDE YOUR STEPS

Isaiah 30:21 (New American Standard Bible)

And your ears will hear a word behind you, "This is the way, walk in†††††††††††† it,Ē whenever you turn to the right or to the left.

Every true believer desires to walk in obedience to the will of God.

Most of us find it difficult to hear the voice of the Lord.We become confused and disoriented as we hear the many voices that try to influence us with advice and guidance. In the midst of all of the possibilities we do the best to intellectually discern the wisest option available.

We soon learn that our wisdom is not very accurate and our decision-making is not very productive. The moment of uncertainty and indecision begins to weigh heavily upon us.We doubt our own ability to judge the situation and often take the advice of someone with less knowledge and understanding than ourselves.

Uncertainty forces us to resort to mentally flipping a coin or drawing straws. We know that neither is very accurate but desperation forces us into action.

There is good news!If you identify with any of these statements, we encourage you to evaluate the above Scripture. There is one you can trust for guidance. He is our Lord and Redeemer who sent the Holy Spirit to lead us into all truth and direct our path.

Our Heavenly Father has promised to be our provider and protector. When bewilderment and indecision confront us, it is time to log on to the broadband linked to Godís throne and pray for his direction. We can invoke his promise to never leave or forsake us.

We can rest in quiet confidence that God will direct us. If we start down the wrong path way, He will intervene. He is always faithful to those who call upon him for guidance. The timing of your answer may come at any time from the midnight hour or the noonday sun, 24/7.You will hear his voice speak quietly and yet penetrate the confusion about you, saying "this is the way, go ahead and walk in it."If you take a wrong turn or start to make a wrong decision the Holy Spirit will quickly advise you to change direction.

We would find much greater success and true peace if we would learn to seek God's will before taking action.Just a simple request is all it takes.

Prayer:

Almighty God; I come to you with a plea for your guidance as I determine my life decisions.I want to walk in your perfect will.I realize that you have promised to speak to me and provide direction for my life.

I pray that you will help me to know what to do in moments of confusion and indecision.Help me to live according to your will and bring me to a place of clear understanding as to the decisions that I should make.I pray in the name of Jesus Christ, my wonderful Lord and soon coming King.Amen.
